Tasty News: SOUTH PARK To Enjoy Three More Seasons & 30 Episodes on Comedy Central

Comedy Central

I wonder if we should all be thanking All in the Family right about now. Matt Stone and Trey Parker have said that the were heavily influenced by the 70s sitcom. Cartman was supposed to be an Archie Bunker in an 8-year old body. Well, wherever the South Park concept the important fact is that the world really loves this show. In fact, they love it so much Comedy Central has agreed to to a new deal with the creators to extend South Park by three more seasons and 30 episodes. Now the longest running primetime scripted series will be around for 23 seasons and 304 episodes (barring any more unplanned blackouts.)

In a completely different deal South Park Digital Studios has extended it’s deal with Hulu to cover all the extended seasons and new episodes. Hulu is already streaming the entire South Park library which is 18 seasons and 254 episodes. That sad part is that I’ve been watching since the start. Ok, enough crying! The 19th season of South Park premieres Wednesday, September 16h on Comedy Central. Woohoo!
