Video Licks: Watch Project UROK’s ‘Balloon Room’ with Brooke Van Poppelen & MORE for #GivingTuesday

First off, happy #GivingTuesday to everyone! One of the worthwhile causes you may consider contributing to this day is PROJECT UROK. The organization is a mental health and illness activism non-profit founded by comedy writer/performer Jenny Jaffe in 2014 and based in New York. Project UROK has produced many videos featuring noted comedians and performers who have talked about their struggles with mental illness, inspiring young people to combat the isolation of these issues. Jenny Jaffe, who suffered from paralyzing anxiety and depression throughout her teenage years, recently started a web series called Balloon Room. In the series Jaffe invites a comedian to face their fears by explaining the fear, writing it on a balloon, and popping it. Jenny’s #1 fear happens to be balloons popping. Eeek! Watch as Brooke Van Poppelen (Hack My Life, The Nightly Show) discusses her fear of deep sea creatures, which includes really ugly fish:

And while we’re talking Project UROK, check out Vice President and ANTM alum Sarah Hartshorne’s tips for maintaining your mental health during the holiday season. Serenity now!
