What do you think of those waking up at the crack of dawn TV morning shows? We are usually quite allergic to those super spunky bringers of news and mirth. However, we are totally on board with The Earliest Show featuring hosts Ben Schwartz and Lauren Lapkus. This series is an original Funny Or Die and Cap’n Crunch co-produced show which pokes fun at those sometimes dreadful, morning displays of joy. There’s just one glaring difference between The Earliest Show and your typical morning fare. This show shoots and airs in the middle of the night! Psych! Schwartz and Lapkus plays co-hosts Josh and Sam who bring you segments that cater to viewers either waking up super early, late night partiers or general insomniacs. The first episode features a kitty retraction, “social wall” shenanigans, guest retired basketball player Reggie Miller explaining clutch 3-point shooting, and an on-air proposal between Josh and his girlfriend Emily. The series is written and directed by Ben Schwartz. Future guests will include Reggie Watts, Jake Johnson, Thomas Middleditch, Jane Levy, Pedro Pascal, along with performances from Eugene Cordero, Betsy Sodaro and Arielle Vandenberg. Look out for new episodes every Tuesday!
