PIT

Many moons ago, we told you about some comedy musicals that veered off center in the best way. Well, the team that brought you Blatantly Blaine and The Disembodied Hand That Fisted Everyone to Death – the Musical!, is back with a brand new, perfectly angsty musical called POP PUNK HIGH. Running throughout March and April (see dates below) at the PIT Loft, Pop Punk High brings back those mid-2000 times where the pop punk music genre reigned supreme and a Meet the Barkers reality show didn’t yet exist. The musical features wannabe pop punk front man, Derek, trying desperately to be the school’s supreme pop punk dude, while trying to win over his love interest Amanda Bunkface. At Pop Punk High its always 2006 and EVERYONE is pop punk, but ONLY ONE man is granted three wishes from the ghost of Avril Lavigne. Will all of Derek’s pop punk dream come true? There’s only one way to find out! The musical features a book by Anderson Cook, music by Ben Lapidus, direction by Turner Barrett Law, production by Anderson Cook, and choreography by Christine Ferry.
