He’s an international comedy star who was named has one of Rolling Stone’s ’50 Best Stand Up Comics of All Time.’ He’s sold out arenas like Madison Square Garden, The O2 Arena and the Sydney Opera House. His comedy specials Russell Peters versus the World, Notorious (Netflix first ever original comedy special), The Green Card Tour – Live from the O2 Arena, Red, White & Brown, Outsourced and A Russell Peters Christmas Special are absolute must-sees and, folks, he’s got plenty more where that came from. Netflix will premiere THE INDIAN DETECTIVE starring Peters just in time for the holidays Tuesday, December 19, 2017 on Netflix Worldwide, following an initial run on CTV Canada starting November 23rd.

The cast of the four-part series includes Bollywood star Anupam Kher (The Big Sick, Silver Linings Playbook), William Shatner (Star Trek, Better Late Than Never), Christina Cole (Suits, Casino Royale), and Mishqah Parthiepha (Keeping Up with the Kandasamys, Snake Park). Shot in Cape Town, Mumbai and Toronto, the comedy-drama features Peters as Doug D’Mello, a police officer from Toronto who gets swept up in a murder case while visiting his father, Stanley (Anupam Kher) a retired airline pilot in India. Doug uncovers a perilous conspiracy involving David Marlowe (William Shatner), a billionaire property developer, while coming to terms with the country that he feels considers him an outsider.
