Quick Dish NY: It’s “DED Talks” & “Drunk Education” This Wednesday at CAVEAT

There’s lots of inventive comedy going on a Caveat in New York’s Lower East Side these days. We have for you just two of the many comedy shows happening this week at the venue and they sound amazing. The first show happening this Wednesday, January 17th is DED Talks. You are familiar with TED Talks already. Well, at DED Talks the lives and ideas of your favorite dearly departed celebs are brought to life. History’s most galvanizing thinkers return to share “Ideas Worth Un-Deading.” The event will feature these very alive performers

Katie Hartman
Joanna Hausmann
Monique Moses
Evan Kaufman
Natasha Vaynblat
Colin O’Brien
Ashley Brooke Roberts
Mark Vigeant

hosted by Jay Malsky (as Elaine Stritch) and Richie Moriarty (as Don Pardo)

bringing you the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Julia Childs, Steve Irwin and more! May the RIP before taking the stage. Be there for the lectures of a lifetime!

Also Wednesday, Caveat has for you Drunk Education. You love Drunk History and The Good Place, right? Well, what if you kind of combined those two and turned it into a TED talk sort of situation. With Drunk Education you have writers/comics/artists making slideshows about stuff they are into and presenting said subject matter to you in an inebriated state. Just a few example of the stuff you could hear at Drunk Education include “the horniness of St. Augustine, the history of mansplaining relayed through the plot of Love, Actually, or the way teen girl organizers could have prevented the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire.” You know, totally important stuff! The night’s speakers will include Clio Chang (staff writer at Splinter News), comedian Josh Gondelman, and Dylan Matthews (staff writer for Vox). Be there!
