Quick Dish LA: Pure & Weary’s THE MONSTER SHOW 2.1 at The Comedy Central Stage

They’re coming to get you, Barbara? Actually, not this minute, the MONSTERS will be out February 1st at The Comedy Central Stage. Chicago sketch duo, PURE & WEARY, also known as Katherine Biskupic and Leah Frires, will sketch their way through all types of monsters in honor of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein at THE MONSTER SHOW. If it’s a damsel-less ghost story you desire, then your wish be granted Thursday, February 1st. If you are not familiar with the sketech duo’s work, The Second City and Annoyance Theatre trained artists have recently performed at the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, the Dallas Comedy Festival, the Crossroads Comedy Festival, the New Movement Theatre-NOLA, the Big-Little Comedy fest, Philly Sketchfest and the NYC Sketch Fest. They are a part of the iO Comedy Network Collective and their YouTube videos have been featured on those OTHER sites like UPROXX, Chicago Now, Comediva, Funny Women, Girl Talk HQ, WhoHaHa, USA Today and Chicago Hustles Magazine. The two “play off of their opposite qualities as performers under a theme for each show,” and this time should be no exception! One last note, this show is directed by host of the 2 Girls 1 Pup Show & PUPcast Monique Madrid! Be there, kids!
