Who knew the simple act of taking your dog on a walk could be fraught with poop patrollers, dog walk stalkers, and smeared good samaritans. From the mind of writer/director Dustin Smith (That’s Huge standup) and pals Austin Miller (That’s Huge) & Reggie Henke (That’s Huge) comes a TV pilot about three unassuming citizens taking their pooches for a stroll. Of course, it wouldn’t be entertaining without those DOG WALKS being interrupted by unexpected events. The first vignette “Molly,” starring Smith, Joe Marrese, and John Parr, features a gentleman who’s bad planning catches up with him when a neighbor witnesses the “evil doer” abandoning his doggie’s unexpected deposit. After being guilted and forcibly accompanied back to his apartment to get a second baggie, a dramatic turn of events changes the relationship between the strangers.
The second vignette “Tony,” stars Austin Miller, Blair Socci, Jesse Villacis, Reggie Henke, and “No Tootie” Iris Karina, and finds the participants in even more complicated doggie situations. After being followed a little too closely by a fellow dog walker, the protagonist is doused with water after being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soon this fellow witnesses a brawl between a lady and her boyfriend and finds his “regular cel” self befriending the woman and playing a prank on her kinda ex. As luck would have it, the rescuer soon ends up in need of rescuing from an unlikely helping hand. We love a clever twist.
The final vignette, called “DJ” sheds some light on a “Tony” storyline, as a character from that part of the pilot faces a heart pounding predicament of his own. After meeting some friends for lunch at what he believes to be a non canine-friendly establishment, the man briefly places his precious DJ in his hospitable car for a brief time. Of course, he returns to find DJ gone, and trying to retrace where it all went wrong. Meanwhile, a seemingly stoned pooch questions his identity and searches for his one true friend and owner. Will anyone come to save them from their sad fates? Only one way to find out! Beware, good samaritans! This vignette stars Reggie Henke, Aaron Kee, Mike Klimkowski, Jenell Randall, and Jay Farnie.
