Who misses Ugly Betty? Yeah I know, don’t cry. Well, it looks like ABC has greenlighted Cristela, a semi-autobiographical multi-camera comedy co-created by the hilarious Cristela Alonzo (Last Comic Standing, CONAN, @midnight). Co-written by Kevin Hench, Cristela will tell the story of an American Latina who was born into two cultures but who doesn’t quite fit in either. Cristela, is in her sixth year of law school and co-habitates with her sister and brother-in-law, in hopes of acquiring a very valued law firm internship. She feels pressure to get a paying job from her mother, her brother-in-law coaxes her to move out and her sister is champions a change. It sounds like there’s real potential here! We can’t wait to see the pilot.
