Tasty News: Listen to A Track (That’s Gone to The Dogs) off of SAM EVANS’ Upcoming Debut Standup Album SWEET BABY BOY Out THIS Friday

This Friday, May 29th, SAM EVANS’ debut full-length comedy album, SWEET BABY BOY, is out on Blonde Medicine. The comic is a staple in the New York and Cincinnati stand-up scenes (when those existed) and is primed to have his comedy heard by the quarantined (and non-Q) masses. When questioned about releasing the album now (by someone other than us), Sam gave this answer “(I) really felt good about the body of material I was touring with. I think sometimes you can fall out of love with a joke if you’ve been telling it for a while, and I just wanted to record while the material still felt new and exciting to me. I like stand-up records that really recreate the feeling you get when you’re at the performance, and I think we succeeded in doing that.” Gosh knows, we could all use a listen of some great comedy right about now.

Sweet Baby Boy was recorded in October 2019 in front of an enthusiastic audience at Go Bananas in Cincinnati. The album takes measured swipes at “modern relationships, family, jobs, bad tattoos,” and just can’t resist gravitating on humans’ best friend, canis lupus. Today we have a track off the album that addresses America’s favorite pet. It appears Sam has some beefs when it comes to dogs and their owners. Those poor creatures don’t need middle names and titles from their owners, they ONLY need those monikers from Sam. Also, Sam questions if there’s an appropriate area for human hands to go when petting a pooch? Sam gets has some fun with that subject and how it relates to the naming of his album. You’ll understand soon enough. Enjoy Sweet Baby Boy: Nobody’s Voting For Your Dog!
