It’s happening! It’s happening! Real LIVE shows are coming to a venue near you. OK, in this case, its a very specific venue in New York, but no matter! Live comedy is on it’s way to every cell on your in-the-flesh self. Saturday, June 8th comedian NEGIN FARSAD (The Muslims Are Coming!, Third Street Blackout) will “break the pandemic seal on live shows” at the very nerd-friendly Caveat with “An Evening of Comedy From Her Mouth Hole.” The last time all eyes were on Negin was in front of an audience of 1000 in Iowa City. There may be no panic attacks this time, but there will definitely be an intimate crowd, and plenty of laughs to go around. New York-based comedian, filmmaker, writer and actor will be bring you topics like “fruit bowls, Dave Matthews, skinny boyfriends, Palm Springs, noodles, racist cab drivers and 43 other things from her Iranian-American Muslim perspective.” Well, that’s certainly a grab bag of hilarity!

Through sure-to -be hilarious jokes and that familiar “TEDTalk style powerpoint,” Negin will try to almost solve the world’s bigotry, as well as “the curse of soggy sandwich bread.” Now, those are goals we can get behind! If unfamiliar with comedian’s breadth of work, her credits include the political comedy podcast Fake The Nation, NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, her memoir How to Make White People Laugh, regular co-host duties on astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson’s StarTalk, the role of “Meredith the Mindtaker” in the Adult Swim series Birdgirl, and the romantic comedy 3rd Street Blackout (now on Peacock). Suffice it to say, Farsad has been busy, and with that impressive resume, is sure to gain even more fans post-quarantine. Join the comic this June as she braves the in-person world!
