Quick Dish NY: VOCABARET ‘The Variety Show for Word Lovers’ Enters The META-VERSE 2.11 at Caveat

What does Mark Zuckerberg see when he stares in the mirror? The META-VERSE, of course! In this case, we are not talking about the “network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection.” Instead, what we’re referring to is the VOCABARET version of the metaverse where you will experience a “wild ride into the world of poetry, social media, and self-referential segments that put the ‘lit’ in alliteration.” Words, baby!

Join Vocabaret hosts, Sam CorbinTim DonnellyJerzy GwiazdowskiAlly Spier, and Nikolai Vanyo, as they “burst through the fourth Wall-t Whitman” Friday, February 11 at Caveat. They’ve already “racked up more than 100 titles at the Punderdome, taken home trophies at the Pun-Off World Championships, and confused the heck out of America’s Got Talent.” And this February you can see the decorated wordsmiths bring you an evening of raucous wordplay, etymological deep-dives, and alphabetic absurdity as they pull words apart and explore the link between language and our daily lives. It’s gonna be linguistically EPIC! (Also, your high school English teacher will be SO proud for your participation). Details below.

Mentions: Show 7pm ET. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door, $10 livestream. 21+. No outside food/drink. Location: Caveat, 21 A Clinton Street, Manhattan. All attendees must present proof of full vaccination to enter.
