A new independent, dark comedy play hits the stage at The Producer’s Club September 18-20th. Homebound: A New Play, written by Max Carney, direct by Angel Katthi, and featuring Robert L. Bradvica and Carney, is about two brothers reconnecting as their mother’s health worsens. Wilson has never left Athens, Ohio, where they grew up, while Jack moved to Ireland during college and never looked back. Now that Jack is home, he is confronted by all he’s missed as he tries to reconcile his feelings and his self-image with his decisions. Tonally similar to a Martin McDonagh play, Homebound offers a nuanced exploration of the complexities of sibling relationships, loss, resentment, guilt, and the intricacies of family dynamics, spanning 80 minutes without an intermission. Can you really fit comedy into all that? Only one way to find out!
