The Book Club Comedy Hour is a bimonthly comedy variety show at The Last Bookstore in Studio City. Comedians are invited to create new sets inspired by a pre-announced book. For the audience, you don’t have to read the book, but it will be a heck of a lot funnier if you do. (For those who do not partake ahead of time, the book is summarized on stage to keep ALL on the same “page.”)
Their next show is Wednesday, June 10th, and will be Pride-themed. The book of the moment will be Lavender House by Lev AC Rosen. It is a 1950s detective murder mystery that has been described as a “queer KNIVES OUT.” The lineup for the show will include:
Vikas Adam (Audible Narrator Hall of Fame, Narrator of Lavender House) who will be a part of the interview segment, theme game included!
Martin Garcia (SHRINKING, HACKS)
Corey Rittmaster (SILICON VALLEY, GREY’S ANATOMY)
Andy Eninger (The Second City, creator of the Sybil solo improv format, author & lyricist of TRAPPED! A Lobstering Musical)
Lisa Laureta (comedian, puppeteer, and visual artist)
Fletcher Kade (Queer Scene LA)
& HOST Monique Madrid (The 2 Girls 1 Pup Show, DISNEY CHANNEL HOUSE PARTY)
Come join in the rainbow-colored fun.
