This Saturday, August 22nd, THE POWER JOKER returns with more of Robert Moses’ NYC and urbanism at Caveat. What happens when the master builder of New York loses his power and attempts to host a late night talk show? That answer may have to wait because for one night only, former president Lyndon Baines Johnson takes over the show! That’s right, LBJ has wrested control over The Power Joker away from Robert Moses to discuss one of the signature issues of his presidency: voting rights. Come on down to enjoy this old fashioned Texas hootenanny complete with comedy, activism, and live music. Come see LBJ himself joined by Sean Morales-Doyle, director of the Brennan Center’s Voting Rights and Elections Program, Amy Lebowitz, Director of Public Relations for NYC Campaign Finance Board, plus live music from JR Atkins & The Pedernales Posse, and sketches from Adrienne Ianniciello (Characters Welcome, UCB), Will Jacobs (The Other Two, UCB), and Fallon Boles (UCB, Loose Lips). For anyone who loves The Power Broker, New York history, or gratuitous giveaways, this is the show for you.
