Rapidly-rising star MARK SIMMONS is a UK based award winning comedian who has appeared on UK television shows such as Mock the Week. For all those who are not Anglophiles, it’s the hilarious one hosted by Dara Ó Briain and Hugh Dennis that combines the best elements of panel show, stand-up and improvised games with two teams of comedians taking a satirical swipe at the news and world events.
Mark decided to quit his Martial Arts career, before his dream to make Olympics became a reality, to jump onstage and become a professional standup comedian when Seann Walsh asked him to be his tour support. Mark’s debut tour, Quip Off the Mark, lasted three years with over 215 dates across the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, selling over 25,000 tickets. He won the Comic’s Comic Award in 2022, the Victoria Wood Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2023 alongside Danny Ward, and Dave’s Joke of the Fringe Award in 2024 . He was a regular on BBC’s Mock The Week and hosts the popular podcast Jokes with Mark Simmons which has featured the likes of Sarah Millican, Penn and Teller and Rob Beckett (who you may have caught on Jimmy Carr’s Last One Laughing).
Simmons is known for his expertly crafted one-liners, alongside his trade mark off-the-cuff jokes based on random audience suggestions. Unsurprisingly, he has amassed a HUGE online following with over 500,000 followers and 9.2 million likes. Not too shabby! With a joke for every possible situation, Mark sells many thousands of tickets in venues up and down the country, and soon to be in YOUR town. Come experience Mark’s debut show Jest to Impress as it jumps the pond to New York’s SoHo Playhouse this fall. Show dates include:
