Quick Dish NY: The Third Annual ASIAN COMEDY FEST in NY MAY 6th and 7th at STAND UP NY & CAVEAT

The third year of THE ASIAN COMEDY FEST (ACF) will be happening at New York comedy clubs Stand Up NY and Caveat May 6th and 7th in Manhattan. The inaugural event of 2020 featured a wide array of comedic acts, including the hilarious Ronny Chieng. After pivoting to a hybrid format, for obvious reasons, in 2021 ACF featured performances from comics Bowen Yang, Jes Tom, and Michael Cruz Kayne, raising over $8000 for the non-profit Apex for Youth. Helmed by the original creative team of Executive Producer Edward Yoo Pokropski (NBC Universal) and Producer/Marketing Manager Kate Moran (Yahoo!), ACF 2022 promises to go above and beyond what it’s already accomplished. This year portions of the festival will be live-streamed, in addition to the customary live performances. Talent submissions are now being accepted from now until MARCH 23rd. To date, confirmed talent includes:

Yuhua Hamasaki (RuPaul’s Drag Race)

Karen Chee (Late Night with Seth Meyers)

and The Fung Brothers!

The full festival lineup will be announced by April 1st. Stand-up comedy at Stand UP NY will be showcased Friday, May 6th, while comedy in various forms (sketch, musical comedy, standup) will be featured at Caveat Saturday, May 7th. And, YES, there will also be after parties! ACF is the largest national comedy festival dedicated to elevating diverse voices within the AAPI community, and this year’s event should provide a plethora of talent to be excited about.
