The first VOCABARET of 2026 is about subject matter we can’t help being interested in because we’re ALL familiar with it: SLANG! What are the kids actually saying these days? Where does slang originate (and where does it go)? Can a slang term become a bonafide, legitimate word? Drop by Friday, February 13th for a night of comedy, lessons, games and special guests that the gang is lowkenuinely excited about. The night of comic presentations and games featuring Vocabaret regulars and specials guests will be hosted by Jerzy Gwiazdowski.
Do you marvel at morphemes? Are you scintillated by syntax? Then you belong at Vocabaret, where we language is made fun while language is made fun of. Each month a new theme is explored — from Phobias to Butts — in segments with titles like “Back That A-Z Up,” “Glossed in Translation” and “Will You Accept This Prose?” Dads love them—and you will too.
Mentions: Doors 6:30 PM, Show 7:00 PM ET. Tickets $15 early bird (until Feb 06, 07:00PM), $20 standard, $25 at the door, $10 livestream. 21+. Location: Caveat | 21A Clinton Street, Manhattan, 10002.
