Tonight’s Peoples Improv Theater performance of ROOM 4 may be the last of the initial full theatrical run, but don’t fret. There’s now a chance to see the show through the rest of the year. It’s just been announced there will be an extension run! More on that later. Room 4, a comedy play, touches upon some pertinent themes about race and inclusion in the arts, specifically comedy and theater. In the comedy, four black actors are caught in a time loop as they audition for the same token role repeatedly. The Academy Awards may have a race problem, but it’s nothing compared to these fellows’ “existential nightmare!” The show is brought to you by Marina & Nicco (Marina Tempelsman & Niccolo Aeed), aspiring New York based TV/screen-writers and comedic playwrights whose work has been featured on Comedy Central, Funny or Die, and The New Yorker.
