Tasty News: Henry Phillips to Headline The Fourth Annual FuMPFeST June 16-18 in Chicago

It just so happens I was listening to a podcast featuring Henry Phillips and up pops the notice he’s headlining The FuMP’s Annual Funny Music Festival. Don’t you love a handy coincidence? The Funny Music Project, FuMP for short, will be holding FuMPFeST this year at the Holiday Inn Chicago in Elk Grove Village the weekend of June 16-18. The three day festival will include comedy music, a Q&A and autograph session with the Guest of Honor, fun panels like “Dumb Parody Ideas,” vendors, Live Podcast recording, a video contest, movie screening, and the presentation of the 7th Annual Logan Whitehurst Memorial Award for Excellence in Comedy Music, aka The Logan Awards. Back to that Guest of Honor, Henry Phillips is a national touring comedy musician who you’ve seen on YouTube with his tutorial cooking series Henry’s Kitchen, making films like the semi-autobiographical cult comedy film Punching the Clown and it’s sequel Punching Henry; and sharing his ever so twisted songs and stories on TV for Comedy Central Presents and Jimmy Kimmel Live. The FuMP is a collaborative effort made up of a large, ever-growing group of comedy musicians who you will also see perform at the fest. The other entertaining acts joining Henry at FuMPFeST include host and emceee Insane Ian PLUS

Bad Teenage Moustache * Boy Meets Robot * The Gothsicles * the great Luke Ski * Nuclear Bubble Wrap * Reformed Whores * Smashy Claw * Tom Tuerff * Carla Ulbrich * Worm Quartet * Peter Wildman (of The Frantics)

Now that’s a fun group! You can get a FuMPFeST 2017 all weekend all-access badge HERE which gets you into all the concerts, panels, special events, and more. Individual day passes are also available. Now for a Dr. Who music video (a parody of “Doctor Worm” by They Might Be Giants) to give you a taste of what this event is all about. Don’t miss out, kids!

One more thing! Legendary radio personality and my personal hero, Dr. Demento, calls The FuMP “the Premiere Online Source for Funny Music” and “the best thing to happen to funny music since Al went weird.” With that kind of endorsement, how could you possibly miss out on FuMPFeST!
