If you’ve never been privy to the comedy hodge podge of madness that is WET The HIPPO, we have just the opportunity for you to get familiar. The LA underground comedy troupe will deliver their ever popular improv show The Murge, as well as their new creation, The Vivian Beckley Performing Arts Players to the Think Tank Gallery’s Drinkin’ Smokin’ & West Coastin’ Saturday, September 9th. The Murge, which you might have seen performed at The Clubhouse in Los Feliz, is what you’d call “The Blob” if an improv show were to assume physical form. It’s pure improv spontaneity directed by the improv gods.
The Vivian Beckley Performing Arts Players, I’m sure, will be just as crazy a show and epitomize WtH’s knack for reinventing stand-up, sketch, improv, with a little live music and dance adding in for good measure. Drinkin’ Smokin’ & West Coastin,’ A Group Love/Hate Letter, begins August 19th at Think Tank and will feature an entire month of art and events.
