Yesterday John Oliver ended the Last Week Tonight episode with a segment on those beloved Russian space geckos he’d originally reported on back in August. When we first heard about the adorable green reptiles, they were stranded in space. With a little media encouragment it appeared Oliver was successful in giving the little critters a bit more life on their mission, as they established connection with their Earth. However, I’m sad to relay that the 4 little she-geckos and their male companion did not survive the mission. Oliver paid tribute to the cosmic heroes with the band A Great Big World. Let us now bow our heads in respect.
