Video Licks: The 6,028th and Final Letterman Monologue

The Late Show with David Letterman

Well, 33 years of Letterman and he’s still got it. Yesterday, the pride of New York put on his final Late Show performance. His monologue was silly and topical as ever and he didn’t shed one tear. In the monologue the host joked about the fact he wouldn’t be getting that gig on The Tonight Show. He revealed his new role in retirement. We learned the comedy that could happen today. And it wouldn’t be a final monologue without some nods from The Simpsons and The Wheel of Fortune. Enjoy! (Question: What will Paul do with all those sequin jackets?)

Good luck in your future endeavors, Dave!

Mentions: Hope you still have all those old episodes on VHS. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert debuts September 8th on CBS.
