Video Licks: The “Hairy” Tale of ‘Rapunzel’ on a NEW FEMINIST FAIRYTALES

Rapunzel

You may be quite familiar with the line “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.” This idiom, of course, refers to the popular fairytale Rapunzel. This story goes back as far as the 17th century but really took hold after the publication of the Brothers Grimm‘s collection. In the latest video from sketch team We Are Thomasse, we are treated to a reading from the feminist perspective that reveals not only the classic tale of magical golden locks, an Into The Woods class witch, and exceedingly impenetrable tower, but some comedic truths about being a woman. Enjoy the Feminist Fairytales’ edition of Rapunzel!

This video features Sarah Ann Masse and is written and co-produced by British-American married comedy couple, We Are Thomasse (Nick Afka Thomas and Sarah Ann Masse).
