For most of us, this past year was a real roller coaster ride. It was full of more original content and films with most having a good sprinkle of political banter after a long, interesting presidential campaign. Bringing you the best of the worst of 2016, Upright Citizens Brigade held it’s annual IT SUCKED! Awards for 2016 three nights in December at their Sunset location in Los Angeles, CA. Produced by Drew Spears, it was hosted by the dynamic duo Devin Field and Marcella Arguello. This first performance of the event included Dolores from HBO’s Westworld who helped with the production and made an appearance! She even called out some of the audience and their ridiculous Facebook statuses and likes over the past year. Susan B. Anthony came back and was angrily surprised at the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. She also didn’t seem too happy about her grave being covered in “I Voted” stickers.

Here are the horrible, sucky winners of the 2016 IT SUCKED Awards:

Worst Under Dog Story: The Cubs
Bravest People: Political Satirists (Larry Wilmore from The Nightly Show accepted the award)
Most Inclusive Media: Conglomerate (Disney Executive accepted the award)
Best Squinty Little Tiny Fuckface: Newt Scamander (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)
Best Fashion Trendsetter: Brexit
Shitty Musical Guest: Lin Manuel Miranda
Work Way to Take A Stand: Oregon Militia
Best New Hate Symbol: Pepe the frog
Most Original Thing: Stranger Things (Winona Ryder accepted the award of behalf of the show)
Worst Coping Mechanism: Michelle Obama

The cast included a talented bunch of performers: Jacob Wysocki, Ego Nwodim, Christine Bullen, Lou Wilson, Dan Van Kirk, Peter Banifaz, Marques Ray, Beth Appel, Natalie Palamides, Carl Tart, Ele Woods, and Olivia Norman. It was surely an amazing night of looking back at what made 2016 really suck. As if we all needed the reminder of why we need this year to hurry up and end already.
