The 12th LA Improv Comedy Festival kicked off Sunday (June 1) and will be happening at iO West until June 7th. The weeklong event will feature shows simultaneously occurring on three stages, informative workshops and, an impresssive roster of celebrity headliners. Teams and artists from all over the world will be perform long-form, short-form, musical and genre-specific improv. Opening and closing the festival is one of the best long-form improv groups Beer Shark Mice, featuring cast members David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office), Neil Flynn (The Middle, Scrubs), Mike Coleman (The Middle), Pat Finn (Marvin Marvin, The Middle) and Peter Hulne (Anchorman, Elf). Other celebrity headliners scheduled to appear include Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall), Glee creator Ian Brennan, Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Lucas Neff (Raising Hope), Echo Kellum (Sean Saves the World) and more!

On the roster of fun-filled events there will also be an exciting stand-up comedy competition. The event will feature 6 nights of comedy, 10 comics per night, 5 minutes each and only one winner will be chosen by audience vote of their top two favorite comedians each night. The six finalists will get the opportunity to perform another 5 minutes with special guest headliners on the championship night. An audience vote plus the votes of the headliners will decide the champion. The winning prizes include $250 and the opportunity to perform with the guest headliners in the finals, the opportunity to host a monthly Stand Up show on the iO West Main Stage and a live performance of their 5-min set at Bite the Mic stand-up show on BiteSizeTV.
