Quick Dish NY: VOCABARET Variety Show for Language Lovers TOMORROW 11.12 at Caveat

Five “heavy weight champions of the word” will bring you an evening of raucous wordplay November 12 at Caveat. Join Sam Corbin (The New Yorker), Tim Donnelly (NY Post), Jerzy Gwiazdowski (’19 O. Henry Punniest in Show), Ally Spier (Reductress) and Nikolai Vanyo (’21 O. Henry 2021 Punslingers champion) as they host VOCABERET, where the audience will be treated to an evening of “etymological deep-dives and alphabetic absurdity” as words are pulled apart and the link between language and daily life is investigated. This month’s topic will be “Talking Animals” so you just know the place will be jumping like an pachyderm escaping it’s cage. Topics you might expect this month include:

Can Garfield the cat actually speak?

Can LOLcats haz a better reputation?

How do you know when birds are horny?

AND anything else beast-friendly you can imagine (no, not that!). Your hosts have amassed over 100 titles at the Punderdome, polished off trophies from the Pun-Off World Championships, and had their way with America’s Got Talent, so you are guaranteed to be in good hands. Don’t miss out on this night of anagrams, entendres, portmanteaus and more!
