Quick Dish NY: Comedian GABE MOLLICA’S ‘SOLO: A SHOW ABOUT FRIENDSHIP’ Opens 11.2 at Solo Playhouse

Comedian GABE MOLLICA got his start in comedy because of a drunken split decision. Boy, did he take the right path! This November 2nd, the comic will make his off-Broadway debut with Solo: A Show About Friendship, running for eight nights at the Soho Playhouse. The beloved Chris Gethard will appear as SPECIAL GUEST on opening night, and the show runs from November 2nd through the 5th, then November 9th through the 12th. The show takes “a funny and honest look at how hard it can be to make friends as an adult, and what to do when your best friend and girlfriend start dating.” Now that’s getting real! The show begins with this declaration:

I turned 30 and it occurred to me that I don’t have any friends.

“Over the next 60 minutes, Gabe attempts to explain why, analyzing the “30-year old bros” in his life, high-school relationships, his first drunken attempt at stand-up, summers at a camp for children with chronic illnesses, and many more stories of young love, friendship, heartbreak, and Taco Bell.” This is definitely one you’ll relate to! Solo has already made a run at Edinburgh Fringe to a positive reception, so come out and enjoy a night of laughter and revelation.
